It's perfectly clear. Bicycles on the left and pedestrians keep right.

Bicycles ride on the LEFT
Walkers, keep right.
Lovely day for a walk.
Head down, thinking.
Whoah. Screech. Brakes.
Maybe if the sign was on the other side?
The moral of this story?
When in France…
Never assume.
Might suggest they turn the sign round.
Be quicker than repainting
all those signs on the pavement.
