Mode de Vie/Why I live here

A man said to me: Time is different in France. He was Swiss. They know about time. I have an example that helps to explain his comment. My bus has arrived at the gare routier (bus station). The driver alights and lights up a cigarette. A tourist (i.e. not local) asks the driver. What time will this bus leave? The driver examines the cigarette between her fingers, holds it aloft and declares. In about four minutes. You see, ‘we’ have priorities here.

N.B. This is about TIME and way of life. I am not endorsing smoking. just so you know. 🙂
